Despite an impressively competitive pre-season, Bray fell at the first League hurdle, and were unable to capitalise on their visitors' woes, UCD losing both central defenders before the break, Eanna Clancy to injury and Alex Dunne to dismissal.

Two first half goals by the Students proved adequate to take all three points from a Wanderers side that failed to make dominant second half possession count.

Ben Feeney, who had come close several times previously, took the bare look off the Bray scoreline with just minutes left to play, while Cole Omorehiomwan went agonisingly close to an equaliser in time added.
