TREATY UNITED | 2-2 | BRAY WANDERERS | Mark Walsh 2 | | Shsne Griffin 72 pen | Thomas Considine 39 | | Thomas Morgan 82 |
First Division Markets Field 08 Mar 2024 A point on the road is not to be sneezed at, but this one was hard won. It was a nightmare opening for Bray, who were looking to build on their victory over Kerry two weeks previously: a Treaty free leading to two quick corners, Willie Armshaw, finding his captain, Mark Walsh, with the second and the latter in turn finding the net. The visitors might have seen themselves as unlucky at least twice not to level matters before the break, but worse was to come, with Thomas Considine's narrow angle effort following a Stephen Christopher free making its way into Jimmy Corcoran's net at the near post. Once more, it took until deep into the second period before Bray managed to recover sufficiently to reduce the deficit, and that courtesy of a spot-kick duly put away by Griffin. Even then, it didn't look particularly likely that the visitors would rescue the tie, but substitute Thomas Morgan netted inside the final ten minutes, and was desperately unlucky not to double his tally in time added, though credit must be given to Corey Chambers for a fine reaction block on that occasion.
