DAVID CONNOLLY
Born: 6/6/77 Height: 5’8”

Willesden-Born son of Irish parents, Connolly started his career with Watford and broke into the Senior international squad aged just 18. His Ireland career sparked continental interest and a move to Dutch giants Feyenoord. Connolly had loan spells with Wolves and Dutch Division Two club Excelsior before returning to Feyenoord, where he recaptured his early form. Returned to England with Wimbledon in August 2001.

ROBBIE KEANE
Born: 8/7/80 Height: 5’9”

Robbie, who was first capped for Ireland at U-16 level, joined Wolves from Crumlin United. He scored both goals for Wolves in their opening day victory in the 97/98 season over Norwich City at Carrow Road, and ended up playing 38 matches for them. In March 1998 he won his first cap against the Czech Republic at Oloumuc. During summer 98 he helped the Ireland U-18s to a historic victory in the European Championships, and then represented his country at the 1999 World Youth Cup in Nigeria. Joined Coventry City later that year and impressed in his debut season in the Premiership. Joined Inter Milan for £13.2m during the summer and went to Leeds United on loan in December 2000, a move that later became permanent.

NIALL QUINN
Born: 6/10/66 Height: 6’4”

Niall was a Minor hurling star with Dublin, playing in the All-Ireland Minor Hurling final in 1983 months before he joined Arsenal. After a promising start at Highbury, he moved to Manchester City and stayed there until the start of the 95/96 season when he joined his former Maine Road boss Peter Reid at Sunderland. Is considered one of the club's most popular players ever. Niall won his first Senior cap against Iceland on May 25 1986 and is now one of his country's most experienced internationals.

CLINTON MORRISON
Born: 14/5/79 Height: 5’10”

Made headlines in early 2001 with goals for Crystal Palace in their run to the League Cup semi-finals. Revealed his eligibility for Ireland through his grandmother, from Garristown, Co Dublin. A tug of war ensued between Ireland, England and Jamaica before he finally declared for the Irish in May and won two U-21 caps against Portugal and Estonia. Scored on his Senior debut against Croatia in August 2001.

RICHARD SADLIER
Born: 14/1/79 Height:

Tall and gangly, Sadlier made his debut as a substitute for Robbie Keane against Russia in March 2002 and immediately impressed with his work rate and physical presence. Born in Dublin, Sadlier moved to Millwall as a teenager, but his early development has been hampered by a number of injuries. He was a member of Ireland's 1999 U-20 World Cup squad.
