League Cup 1st Round Carlisle Grounds 29 August 1999 Forde dismissal helps Bray Ten man Kilkenny City were no match for Bray at the Carlisle Grounds and the Seasiders comfortably advanced to the second round of the Eircom League Cup. Jason Byrne put the hosts in front with a stunning 25-yard volley on 24 minutes following a great through ball from Kieran 'Tarzan' O'Brien. Any hope of a Kilkenny recovery was dashed by the sending off of goalkeeper Robbie Forde for a second bookable offence on 55 minutes. Forde, who had been cautioned in the first half for kicking the ball away, was given his marching orders for comments directed at a referee's assistant. Glenn Brien made it 2-0 on 69 minutes when he robbed Kilkenny's Niall Keogh before drilling the ball home from six yards. The visitors pulled one back just four minutes later when Mark Mearns fired the ball into the roof of the net from 12 yards. Bray clinched victory in the final minute when their new signing from Blackburn Rovers Ciarán Ryan found the net with an exquisite volley. © Irish Independent [http://www.independent.ie] Bray Wanderers: Walsh, Kenny, Keogh, Power, Doohan, Brien (Lynch 85), Byrne (Larkin 84), B.
